I had 10 attendees and four Friends of Brompton Cemetery volunteers on my 11 May 2024 Introduction to Cemetery Symbols tour. A good crowd I thought and they kept up with me until the end. An extra bonus was when one of the volunteers very kindly opened up the Brompton Chapel for us. It’s normally only open for funerals and exhibitions so we were very fortunate to see inside. I like tour participants to see as many symbols as possible within the cemetery and to give them enough knowledge to enable them to return. They were all kind enough to give me a round of applause at the end by the catacomb doors!
